Education and Qualifications
Does your employer or college recognise your qualifications?
Your employer or your local college may not understand the level of education or the kind of qualifications you gained in your home country.
If this is the case, contact UK NARIC, the National Recognition Information Centre for the UK on www.naric.org.uk
Your level of education
UK NARIC looks at the qualifications you gained in your own country and it compares them to UK qualifications. It can provide a letter to your employer or local college, showing how your qualifications compare to UK qualifications. This will help employers and colleges understand the skills and knowledge you already have.
Once you have a letter from UK NARIC, you can choose what to do next
- Do further study to improve your education.
- Go into employment.
- Apply for professional status, for instance to work as a teacher.
- Apply for the Highly Skilled Migrants Programme as part of the Work Permits application process.
